Purpose:

To foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization, enhancing its adaptability and competitiveness.

Scope:

Innovation management, continuous improvement processes, idea generation and implementation.

Responsibilities:

Cultivate an innovative mindset, implement continuous improvement methodologies, manage innovation projects.

Key Activities:


Hosting innovation workshops, implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects, managing an idea submission platform.

Expected Outcomes:

Increased innovation output, improved processes and efficiencies, sustained competitive advantage.

Governance Activities:

Monthly innovation and improvement project reviews to assess progress, challenges, and opportunities for scaling successful initiatives.

Innovation Manager: Leads the innovation initiatives, identifies new opportunities for improvement, and oversees the implementation of innovative solutions.

Continuous Improvement Specialists: Focus on analyzing current processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements.

Cross-Functional Innovation Teams: Teams composed of members from various departments who collaborate on innovation projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Change Agents: Individuals who are champions of change, advocating for and facilitating the adoption of new processes and technologies within the organization.

Continuous Improvement Cycles: (e.g., PDCA): Implementing structured cycles (Plan-Do-Check-Act) for continuous assessment and improvement of processes.

Change Management: Applying structured approaches to facilitate the adoption of changes resulting from innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Idea Management Software: Tools like Brightidea or IdeaScale that enable the collection, evaluation, and management of ideas from employees.  Can also be blended into a Demand Management solution.

Project Management Platforms: Software such as Smartsheet, Trello, Asana, or Jira to plan, execute, and monitor innovation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration Tools: Platforms like Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Zoom that facilitate communication and collaboration among innovation teams.

Data Analytics and BI Tools: Solutions like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Analytics for analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities and measure the impact of initiatives.
